    Introduction to behavioural interventions in CBT

    Overview of behavioural techniques

    Values-based behavioural activation: Understanding and practicing behavioural activation techniques for mood regulation and managing depressive symptoms.

    Exposure Therapy: Exploring exposure techniques, hierarchy development, and graded exposure for anxiety disorders.

    Role of Behavioural Interventions: Understanding how behavioural techniques complement cognitive restructuring within CBT.

    Afternoon Session

    Practical applications and case studies

    Developing treatment plans: Strategies for incorporating behavioural interventions into treatment plans and adapting techniques to individual client needs.

    Case studies and demonstration: Reviewing case studies to understand the application of behavioural interventions in various clinical scenarios.

    Role-playing and practice: Engaging in role-playing exercises to practice using these interventions and get the opportunity for feedback and advice

    Putting it together: how you and your service can put into practice what you have learned; identifying and problem solving barriers, planning and implementation going forward.

  • This course is suitable for mental health professionals (with or without a core training), including counsellors, psychotherapists, clinical psychologists and individuals interested in gaining insights into ACT.

    Note: This course provides foundational knowledge and skills for working with individuals but does not qualify participants to practice as CBT therapists. Consultation with a qualified mental health professional is essential for any clinical practice involving assessment, formulation, diagnosis or treatment.
