About Minerva.

Minerva delivers accessible, evidence based training on psychological approaches. We stand out for our flexible and engaging style with our emphasis on practical skills. Our courses offer abundant opportunities to observe demonstrations and engage in practice sessions, ensuring a deep understanding and mastery of numerous tools and techniques integral to good clinical practice.

Minerva was founded by Dr Rosie Burton and Dr Gemma Ridel, both clinical psychologists experienced in clinical work and teaching. Minerva’s courses are developed and delivered by psychologists and therapists with expertise in the subject matter. All our trainers meet our high standards of training, education, experience and engaging presentation skills.

  • Dr Gemma Ridel, C.Psychol, DClinPsychol, PGDip Oxon, PGDip Glas, BA (Hons), AFHEA, AFBPsS

    Co-Founder

    Gemma is a Chartered Psychologist and Registered Clinical Psychologist, qualifying in 2006. She has completed further training in several psychological approaches including PG professional training in CBT and neuropsychology and is BABCP accredited as a CBT therapist.

    Gemma has worked in a variety of NHS settings in Norfolk and London. She also regularly teaches in the UK as well as internationally and has held academic positions at the UEA. She is an Associate Fellow of both the Higher Education Academy and the British Psychological Society.

    In addition to her clinical and teaching positions, Gemma is also involved in research in relation to psychosocial interventions for dementia.

    Clinically, Gemma works with adults and older people and has expertise in CBT and non-pharmacological approaches to dementia, she delivers training on Cognitive Stimulation Therapy for UCL.

  • Dr Rosie Burton, C.Psychol, DClinPsychol, MSc, PGDip, BA(Hons)

    Rosie qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2012 and in 2013 gained her BABCP accreditation as a CBT therapist. Since qualifying, Rosie has worked in a variety of NHS settings including Child and Adolescent Mental Health and sexual health services.

    Rosie is an experienced trainer having delivered training on CBT both in the UK (Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, Kings College, London) and overseas (The University of Colombo) as well as to the NHS directly.

    Rosie has also gained extensive experience in the corporate and media sectors, including tenures at Saatchi & Saatchi, Talkback Thames and Arnold & Bolingbroke (now known as MM-Eye).

    Combining her corporate background with expertise in Clinical Psychology, Rosie is able to use psychological theory and practice to help enhance productivity through staff well-being. Her holistic approach prioritises mental health and well-being, offering invaluable insights that bridge the gap between sectors, nurturing a healthy work environment conducive to individual and organisational growth.
